Andrea Masse
Occupational Therapist
Andrea is an Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience in both public and private healthcare settings. She completed her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at University of Toronto after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at University of British Columbia. She has additional continuing education in Chronic Pain Management through Pain BC, the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation, the Progressive Goal Attainment Program, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and wheelchair and seating.
Andrea worked at St. Paul’s Hospital for over 10 years on the surgical unit, orthopedic surgery, stroke rehab, internal medicine, and palliative care. Andrea now works in the community as a mobile occupational therapist. She conducts home and workplace assessments, leads group classes, and provides one-on-one rehabilitation for clients.
Andrea’s treatment approach utilizes a biopsychosocial model through education on self-management strategies and empowering clients to integrate strategies into their daily life to facilitate behaviour change and improving their function. Andrea has additional experience in conducting ergonomic assessments, assisting with returning to work, adaptive equipment prescription and more.
Andrea has played sports her whole life and continues with an active lifestyle. She has a strong interest in encouraging others to integrate physical activity and achieving a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
When Andrea is not working, you can find her playing soccer, at the gym or spending time with her family/friends.
